Members of the Board of Trustees

 

Paul M. Accardi (Board Treasurer) is a Certified Public Accountant and has a BS in Business Administration from Merrimack College. With sixteen years experience in Public Accounting, he is a partner in the Haverhill firm of Carr, Staples and Accardi, P.C. He is the Treasurer of the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Northeast Community Credit Union, as well as the Haverhill Boys Club. Paul is a lifelong Haverhill resident with two children attending Haverhill Public Schools.

 

Janet Begin (Board Chairperson) earned a BS in Computer Science from RPI, an MS in Computer Engineering from Boston University and a M.Ed. in Elementary Education from Lesley University. She has worked in the high technology industry as a software engineer and team leader. She is also a Massachusetts certified teacher and has assisted and substituted in the Haverhill school system while raising her two children. Her youngest attends a Montessori pre-school and her oldest attends a Haverhill public school.

 

Alison Caruso is the Director of Operations of an internet-based business acquisition finance company.   Her undergraduate concentrations in accounting and finance at Northern Essex Community College were supplemented by certificates from the American Institute of Banking in Banking Principles, Cash Flow Analysis and Business Law. She is a lifelong Haverhill resident and the mother of two children with special needs. Her children attend the Andover School of Montessori, where she served as the President of the Parents’ Association Community Effort.

 

Erik Ingersoll is a Regional Manager for a leading car rental firm. He holds a BS in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University. He is a Haverhill resident with three young children, one of whom attends HVM.  Erik was an active volunteer, having served as Co-Vice President and Treasurer of the Merrimack Montessori PTO when his children attended there. He also has served as a member of the Parent Advisory Council of the Haverhill Family Network, a Community Action Inc. organization.

 

Migdalia Joubert holds a BA in Criminal Justice and Paralegal Certificate from Hesser College. She is currently working on her BS with concentrations in Sociology and Spanish at UMass Lowell. She has been involved with the Massachusetts Migrant Education Program, a Department of Education (DOE) affiliated program, for the past fifteen years. She has experience in Home/Auto Insurance and was a certified broker in that area. Migdalia was founder and treasurer of the Haverhill Hispanic Coalition during its seven-year duration and a member of the Haverhill High School Site Council for two years. She has been closely connected with the educational system in Massachusetts especially in areas where socio-economics and minority student issues are prevalent. She has two grown children who attended Haverhill Public Schools.

 

David Kelley is the Employment Coordinator for the Haverhill Clubhouse, working with mentally ill adults. He is a career educator with thirty-five years experience as a teacher, principal, director of schools overseas, and superintendent of schools. David resides in Haverhill and has four adult children.

 

Andrea Kwiatkowski is the Director of Haverhill Clubhouse, a community support program designed to help people with mental illness return to work and school. She comes from a family of educators, and has a Masters Degree from Northeastern University in Counseling Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from SUNY Potsdam. Andrea has one child and resides in Bradford.

 

Nancy London  (Board Vice-Chairperson) holds a BA in Criminal Justice and English, and a MA in Public Administration, with an emphasis on law from Ohio State University. She has brought her skills in administration and grant writing to a number of positions within the public sector and non-profit organizations. She is a past board member of Haverhill Community Action Inc. Nancy is a Haverhill resident and business owner and has two young children, one of whom attends a Montessori pre-school.

 

Kelly Martin (Board Secretary) holds a BS in Business from Salem State College and an MBA from New Hampshire College. She has strong organizational, communication and follow-up skills and over fifteen years experience in marketing for high tech companies. She is a Bradford resident and a stay-at-home mom of two young children. Her youngest attends a Montessori pre-school and her oldest is a student at HVM, where Kelly serves as co-chair of the Parent Teacher Alliance. She also volunteers as a facilitator for a support group at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen.

 

Veronica M. O’Brien is a Real Estate Project Manager and has a BS in Interior Design and Resource Management from the University of Connecticut. With fifteen years experience in real estate, she has worked for corporate insurance companies and recently in residential design. She has her own design consulting business. Veronica resides in Haverhill. She has two young children, one of whom is a student at HVM.

 

Advisors to the Board of Trustees

 

Margaret Albanese has A.M.I. (American Montessori Institute) Montessori Certification to teach 3-9 year olds and has been involved in Montessori education for thirty-five years. She has taught Children’s House (3-6 year olds) and Elementary (6-9 year olds), and served as Administrator of Andover School of Montessori (ASM), Coordinator of Parent Education and as a Montessori consultant. She currently serves as ASM Children’s House Program Director. She also holds a certificate in educating children with Special Needs. Margaret is a founder of HVM and provides invaluable expertise as an advisor to the board.
