Commitment to
Community
As part of the fabric of the community in which we
reside, the Trustees of HVM have worked diligently to reach out to other
community-based organizations to compliment their efforts in making a difference
in our city.
Through the schools “Community Connection” students will first
come to understand the world and their part in it by discovering community
within the classroom, then by contributing to the life of the school and caring
for the surrounding plant and animal habitats, and finally, by supporting the
improvement of the larger community beyond the school. As a result, community
service and learning will be an important part of the curriculum throughout HVM,
culminating in fully developed student service projects for the middle school
students when the school grows to its capacity.
As part of its Community Connection, HVM has formed partnerships
with an amazing group of dedicated organizations and businesses that have
committed to work with HVM in bringing the boundless opportunities of our
communityright to the heart
of it – it’s children.
