In the event that the number of children who enroll is
greater than the number of available openings, a public lottery is then held to
determine each child's enrollment or wait list
status.
All
applications received are divided into Haverhill resident and Haverhill
non-resident categories. If there is a surplus of resident applications,
names of Haverhill residents will be drawn first, then non-residents, and a
waiting list is developed.
A
disinterested member of Haverhill's community, such as a minister or local
politician, will preside over the lottery to draw the names. Students
will be enrolled based on their selection in the lottery.
