What is the CP?
"CP" stand for Community Parnership and is the parent-teacher group at HVM much like a traditional school might have a PTA or PTO.
The HVM CP sponsors a number of school events and offers ways to support the school. The group meets monthly and all parents/guardians are automatically members and invited to attend. In fact, attending CP meetings is a great way to stay informed about the school as well as meet other HVM parents.
CP-sponsored events have included:
The CP runs a number of fundraising programs that help it raise funds used to support the school's staff and students. ox Tops for Education is one such program. Another program, the Scrip Program, involves the regular purchase of gift cards to use instead of cash. (A lot of Scrip Users purchase gas cards, grocery, and pharmacy cards because these are expenses they know they are going to have. Why not use a gift card instead of cash?) When a Scrip card is purchased, a percentage of the face value of the card is returned to HVM with no cost to the Scrip User. As an example, an indiviudal purchases a Scrip~Walgreens gift card for $50 and uses it for $50 worth of goods. The purchaser has only paid the face value of the card but in addition to getting a gift card worth $50, Hill View receives a percentage of the purchase. Some cards pay as much as 15% to HVM!
