Administrative Staff Members
Stacy RossAdministrative Assistant. Stacy holds Associate Degrees from Northern Essex Community College in Computer Science and Paralegal Studies and will complete her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice at Hesser College in Salem, NH this December. Stacy has experience as an administrative assistant in both the medical and legal fields.
Yazmin BonillaAdministrative Assistant. Yazmin has worked in the Front Office for three years. Her past experiences have proved to be an asset in making the Front Office and HVM run smoothly and efficiently.
Shanyn A. Toulouse BSN, RN School Nurse. Shanyn holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and an Associates Degree of Applied Science in Nursing. She has been a Registered Nurse for over 12 years. Shanyn has many years of experience working with schools as a Nurse Consultant in Maryland and then working as a Head Start nurse here in Massachusetts. She has trained children and adults in many aspects of health and safety including First Aid, CPR, asthma, allergies, and other health related topics. Shanyn is DOE certified as a Health Educator and School Nurse. As a nurse, Shanyn values the Montessori Method of teaching because students are recognized as “whole individuals” and are able to discover their own unique potential.
Albert Sanchez, Jr.Custodian. Albert has worked at HVM for four years and is an invaluable and integral part of our school. His constant vigilance to the day to day needs of the staff, students, and building are a large part of making the school a pleasant and welcoming environment.
Josué Sanchez, Jr.Custodian. Josué worked at HVM last year on a part-time basis. He will be joining Albert this year as a full-time employee. Alongside Albert, Josué is an integral part of making HVM a great place to work and study.
Returning Teachers
Lead Teachers
Susan MacLeodKindergarten. Susan holds a BA in Psychology and 3-6 Montessori Certification. She was instrumental in founding a Montessori school in Ipswich which has now grown into two schools. She has served on several committees supporting the operations and growth schools.
Louisette MorinKindergarten. Lou holds a BS in Psychology, a Master in Education from Cambridge College, and a 3-6 AMS Primary Certification from the Northeast Montessori Institute.
Meghan ChaseLower Elementary. Meghan has her BA in Elementary Education and was certified for K-6 in North Carolina where she taught for a year at the third grade level. Meghan worked as an Assistant Teacher last year and we are very pleaced to see her move into a Lead Teacher position. She will complete her 6-9 training next summer at CMTE/NY.
Amanda Smart- Lower Elementary. Amanda received AMS Montessori training at the Lower Elementary level at Seacoast Montessori Center in Greenland, NH. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Salem State College and a MA state license in Early Childhood Education. In addition, she had a second major in art history and won several awards for her work in this field.
Christi-Ann GeorgeLower Elementary. Christi-Ann received AMS Montessori training at the Lower Elementary level at CMTE, Center for Montessori Teacher Education, in Lexington, MA. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from CUNY Baruch College in New York, NY. In the past she has worked at the Andover School of Montessori for two years as a Lower Elementary teacher. Christi also worked for a number of years in the business world.
Deborah MacDonald joined HVM as a Lower Elementary Teacher in August 2004 and will be returning as an Upper Elementary Teacher. Deborah holds a B.S. in Art Education from UNH and a M.S. in Developmental Reading from Cardinal Stritch College in Fox Point, Wisconsin. She is trained at both Primary and Elemtary Montessori levels. She has 27 years of experience in Private and Public Montessori Schools in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Nicole AndrewsKindergarten with Ms. Morin. Nicole has an OCCS certification from Northern Essex Community College as well as Assistant Certifications I & II from the Northeast Montessori Institute.
Katherine BurkeLower Elementary with Ms. Chase. Katherine graduated with a BA in Psychology with a focus on child and adolescent psychology. She has previous experience working with children to develop reading skills and assisting with everyday curriculum and activities.
Kathryn DeMarcoLower Elementary with Ms. George. Kathryn holds a bachelors degree in Philosophy and a minor in Education from Stonehill College in Easton MA. Kathryn has spent the last three years teaching both kindergarten at HVM as well as k and 2nd grade in Brockton MA. Kathryn holds at MA teaching license and has successfully completed the first half of her Montessori training in lower elementary. By August 2008, Kathryn will have completed her Montessori training and her masters of Elementary Education. Kathryn is also a textile artist and was invited to speak at the international textile conference at Hofstra University in April at which time her work was also exhibited.
Kirstin PowellLower Elementary with Ms. Daigle. Kirstin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Vermont where she also received many academic honors. In addition, she holds a Vermont state teaching license in Early Childhood Education. Kirsten spent three years teaching at the kindergarten and elementary levels in Nepal and Taiwan respectively. In the summer she volunteers at a school for the deaf in Nepal teaching sign language and creating a photography-based income generating program.
Elizabeth HenshawLower Elementary with Ms. Lanzillo. Elizabeth Henshaw has a B.A. in Studio Art and English Literature from Smith College. Previous to working at Hill View, she was a nanny and volunteer knitting teacher. She is also a professional artist. This is her second year at Hill View.
New Teachers
Lead Teachers
Kathryn LanzilloLower Elementary. Kathryn has her Bachelors degree from Northeastern University and a Massachusetts Elementary Teaching License. She is currently completing her Lower Elementary Montessori training at Seacoast Center in New Hampshire, as well as getting her Masters of Education in Montessori and Reading Recovery at Lesley University. Last year Kathryn taught preschool at Kingsley Montessori School in Boston. She is very excited for her new position at HVM, and looks forward to becoming an integral part of the HVM community.
Cris KenudsonUpper Elementary. Cris received his 6-9 and 9-12 AMS teacher training through CMTE in Lexington, MA and New Rochelle, N.Y. A native of Vancouver, B.C., Canada, Cris spent many years living in the Western Pacific (Guam) and Japan (Kyoto). He holds a B.A. in Anthropology & East Asian Area Studies, and an M.ED in TESOL. Cris’s interests include reading (esp. science & history), traveling (Asia & S. America), and water-related activities of all kinds.
Christina NicolsonUpper Elementary. Chris has been a Montessori teacher of Upper Elementary students since her AMS training in 2001 with CMTE (Center for Montessori Teacher Education). At River Valley Charter School she was a lead teacher, and at Eliot Montessori School she was a co-teacher. Chris’ prior experience includes teaching third and fourth grades at The Pike School in Andover and many years of summer tutoring for all ages. She has been honored by the National Science Foundation with the “Presidential Award for Excellence in Science and Mathematics Teaching.” Periodically Chris leads seminars for national associations and does professional development for administrators and teachers.

CharleneLevesqueKindergarten with Ms. MacLeod. Charlene holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Ed and Special Ed from Rivier College in NH. She also has holds licenses in Massachusetts and Maine where she taught for various years. She recently obtained a license for assistant in Child Care from Massachusetts.
Stacey DeSimoneUpper Elementary with Ms. MacDonald. Stacey holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and minored in Elementary Education at the University of New Hampshire. She will receive her Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Salem State at the end of the year. Stacey spent 3 years teaching preschoolers and has recently been a nanny for two kids where she played an integral part in their education.
Catherine McNallyUpper Elementary with Mr. Kenudson. Cathy has worked in Montessori education for more than 9 years, in Virginia, Wisconsin and Massachusetts, at both AMI and AMS schools. She is also the mother of two Montessori educated children. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature, is OCCS certified by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and has Early Childhood Certification, Level 7, from the State of Wisconsin.
Lauren RiceUpper Elementary with Ms. Nicholson. Lauren has a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Lesley University and holds a Massachusetts state teaching license in grades one through six. For the past four years, Lauren worked as part of the instruction team at the elementary level in the Tri-Town School District. Lauren began her teaching career, as a classroom teacher, eight years ago.
Specialists

Susan Loganwill be our Before School Care teacher, Fitness Instructor, and IT Instructor. Susan holds a Bachelor of Elementary Education degree from the University of Arizona and Physical Education Endorsement from Fresno Pacific University. She holds an Arizona state license in Elementary Education and taught P.E. classes for the Sierra Vista, AZ school district for two years. In addition, Susan taught 1st grade at Chancellor Charter School in Sierra Vista.
Adam Sablich has worked at HVM for the past three years as the music teacher and technology specialist, and will be returning to HVM as our full-time Technology Specialist. He is currently a BA candidate in Liberal Arts and has over seven years of background in computer, networking, and technical areas.
Learning Differences
Judy BabbinLearning Differences Teacher. Judy holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Westfield State College and a Masters Degree from Salem State College. She is a certified special education teacher in MA and NH. She has taught in Amesbury, Lawrence, and West Newbury, MA. She is originally from Milford, MA where she also taught, directed a sheltered workshop and worked in the banking industry.
Rebecca Driscoll (Becky)One-to-One Paraprofessional. Becky will be working individually with students who have learning differences. Becky holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports, Fitness & Leisure from Salem State College in Salem, MA. While working at HVM, Becky will continue her work for the City of Haverhill as a coach, swim instructor, and lifeguard.
Martha A. Crommiller(Marti) Learning Differences Administrative Assistant. Marti has extensive experience as a bookkeeper and office manager. She possesses many computer skills and served as a dedicated office volunteer at HVM for two years.
Sandra Katz-LachapelLearning Differences One-to-One Paraprofessional. Sandra’s academic experience as well as her professional experience is in the medical field during which she also held instructional positions.
Leslie KrohtoSpeech & Language Pathologist/Therapist. She previously worked in the Methuen Public Schools. Leslie is a certified Speech & Language Pathologist and she has many years working with pre-school and elementary school age children.
NancyModlishSchoolCounselor. Nancyjoined HVM in the Spring of 2007 as the school’s first Social Worker. She is now at the school five days in an expanded role as School Counselor. Nancy received her Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Tufts University in 1983 and her Master’s degree in social work from Boston University in 1987. Before joining the HVM staff, Nancy had been at home raising her four children, volunteering in her school system and working as a substitute teacher. Prior to that time, Nancy worked extensively with children and adolescents in both inpatient and outpatient mental health care facilities.
Andine Welde Peschek(Deena) Learning Differences Teacher. Deena holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Wellesley College and a Master of Education degree from Simmons College. She is a MA and NH certified special education teacher. She has taught in Lawrence and Newton, MA, and in Plaistow and Windham, NH. Originally, she was a journalist who wrote a weekly column and feature articles for the Derry News, Derry, NH.
