Hill View Montessori (HVM) is a free, public school that provides Haverhill families with a choice for their children’s education.  Montessori education emphasizes individualized attention to students and development of the whole child.  Children engage in self-directed learning in mixed aged classrooms developing the skills and attitudes for academic success and social responsibility.  We are one of a small number of public Montessori schools in Massachusetts and one of only two charter schools in the state to offer families this educational option.

 

The school opened in 2004 with 122 students in grades K-3. Each year, HVM adds another grade and expects to provide a Montessori education for K-8 by 2009.  Currently, HVM has 220 students enrolled in grades K-6.  HVM provides a longer school day than many traditional public schools and after school care is also available to HVM families.
